Today we will disassemble, clean, replace thermal grease and assemble the Sony VAIO PCG-71211V laptop back.
To do this, you only need a Phillips screwdriver, thermal grease, a napkin, and preferably a plastic card.
This laptop is not difficult to disassemble and just remove the bottom of the case to gain access to the motherboard and cooling system.
As always, we begin the disassembly by disconnecting the battery. On the bottom of the case there are two compartments in which there is a hard disk and RAM. We turn off the covers of these compartments.
It is not necessary to get RAM, since it does not interfere with disassembly. But if you need to replace it, then you can remove it simply by sliding the latches to the sides.
But the hard drive needs to get it. It is mounted on two screws that need to be unscrewed and then pulled by a special tab to pull the hard drive out of the slot.
Next, unscrew the two screws that hold the DVD drive and remove it from the case.
After that, unscrew all the other screws on the bottom of the laptop case.
Please note that the two screws in the area of the canopy have a larger diameter, so it is better to put them aside. And under the battery are small screws. There are 10 conventional screws.
Pull out the plug so that it does not interfere with disassembly.

To remove the bottom cover, you need to pry it with something thin, preferably a plastic card, so as not to scratch anything. Swipe the card around the perimeter to open all the latches.
Now we can remove the cooling system. Disconnect the cooler power cable, unscrew the screws that secure the fan and radiator. The screws on the radiator must be loosened gradually loosening them to avoid skewing.
Carefully remove the cooling system. In our case, the thermal grease has completely dried up, which negatively affected the operation of the laptop.
Using a napkin, we remove the remnants of the old thermal paste from the chips and the radiator.
We disassemble the fan casing to clean it from the inside. To do this, unscrew the four screws securing the case.
All dust on the fan and radiator fins must be cleaned. Also, do not forget to clean all parts of the laptop case from dust.
After cleaning, put the fan case in place and tighten the screws.
Apply a thin layer of thermal grease to the processor chips and video cards. You need to apply a little, but over the entire surface.
Next, we put the cooling system in place and fasten it with screws, connect the fan power cable. The radiator must also be screwed in gradually and preferably tightened diagonally.
Assembling a laptop is easy by simply following the steps in reverse order.
We put back the lower part of the body and snap all the latches. We screw all the screws around the perimeter, install and screw the hard drive and DVD drive. We put in place the covers of the compartments and fasten them.
On this assembly is completed, it remains only to return the battery to its place and you can begin to work.
It is advisable to clean this laptop once a year to prevent overheating of the video chip and processor.
