Lenovo Ideapad 300 15ibr Brakes

I already talked about how to restore Lenovo ThinkPad series notebooks from the system recovery section to the initial state. Now the turn has come to Lenovo IdeaPad laptops, where the procedure for resetting to factory settings is implemented differently.

By the way, if my memory serves me right, the restoration of the budget notebooks of the Lenovo Essential series occurs in exactly the same way as the IdeaPad, although I’m not 100% sure. When I can verify this, I will make an appendix with more specific information at the end of this article. Well, if one of the readers knows for sure, please unsubscribe in the comments.

Before proceeding with the description of the Lenovo IdeaPad laptop recovery procedure, I strongly recommend that you first read the introductory article “How to restore a laptop to its factory state: introduction”, which contains basic information about the procedure for restoring laptops to their original state from the system recovery section, as well as necessary measures to be taken in order not to lose important data.

I also strongly advise you not to start system recovery until you read this article to the end. You never know what nuances may arise.

So, to start the Lenovo IdeaPad laptop recovery system, the OneKey Rescue system start button is used, with the help of which the system is reanimated from the image stored in the system recovery section.

By the way, it can be used to restore a computer from a manually created backup copy, as well as check for viruses, but since this article is dedicated to returning a computer to its factory state, I will not consider these possibilities here.

The location of the OneKey Rescue system launch button may vary, as well as its appearance. Depending on the specific model, it may be on the case or frame of the display, be external or recessed. This is completely unimportant. The important thing is that clicking it will start the recovery system.

OneKey Rescue system start button on different Lenovo IdeaPad laptop models

You can start the recovery procedure for Lenova IdeaPad laptops both on a turned off computer, and from under the operating system. We will consider the most advanced case in which the operating system is so damaged that the computer does not boot.

Press the OneKey Rescue system start button on the off laptop. The computer will turn on and after a while the start menu will appear on the desktop, in which we will need to select the OneKey Recovery function.

First of all, we have to choose whether we want to restore the system to the factory state or restore it from a user backup. We select the first option and click “Next.”

In the next picture, we will be shown information about the recovery options and warned that we do not turn off the power of the laptop until the end of the procedure. We wind on a mustache and press “Start”.

We will be asked if we really want to return the system partition to its original state. We answer “Yes.”

We will be warned that in this case all data stored on the system partition will be destroyed. If you strictly followed the recommendations of the article “How to restore a laptop to its factory state: introduction”, then there is nothing to fear. Click “Yes.”

From now on, the Lenovo IdeaPad will begin to recover from the recovery section. This process takes some time. Do not press anything, and in no case turn off the power to the computer.

At the end of the procedure, a message appears on the screen that the system recovery is complete. Click OK.

Click the Finish button.

Next, we will be asked to turn off the computer or restart it. What to press is up to you, but system recovery will only be completed after a reboot. Therefore, if you want to complete the recovery right now, click “Restart”, and if you do not mind taking a break, select “Shutdown”.

After turning on the computer, the preparation for the first start of Windows will automatically start. Wait until the menu for selecting the system language appears on the screen.
