How to Add a Map to Apple Pay

This article describes how to add cards to the Wallet app for use with Apple Pay.

Make sure you can add a map

If the card for use with Apple Pay cannot be added to the Wallet app, check Apple Pay on the System Status page. If there is a problem, try adding the card again after fixing the problem.

If there is no problem, follow these steps to make sure that cards can be added to the Wallet app.

Apple Pay is not available for children under 13 years old. Age varies by country or region. Only persons over 18 years of age can perform operations to send and receive money using Apple Pay or receive an Apple Cash card. These services are provided by Green Dot Bank, a member of the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation). Learn more about how to send and receive money.

Try to add a map.

After each action, check the ability to add your card to the Wallet app.

How to Add a Map to Apple Pay
  1. Make sure that this service is supported in your country or region.
  2. Restart your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac.
  3. Upgrade to the latest version of iOS, watchOS, or macOS.

If you still cannot add the card, contact your bank or the card issuer for help.

How to Add a Map to Apple Pay

To add a card to Wallet, you may need to download the application from a bank or card issuer.

If the button () is not in the Wallet app

The absence of a button when opening the Wallet application may mean that the region is incorrectly specified in the device settings. First, make sure you are in a country or region where Apple Pay is supported. Then follow these steps to specify the region for your device:

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app and tap General.
  2. Click Language and Region, then click Region.
  3. Select your region and click Finish.

On apple watch

  1. Open the Watch app on iPhone.
  2. Go to the “My watch” tab and click “General”.
  3. Click Language and Region, then click Region.
  4. Choose your region.

On a MacBook Pro with Touch ID

  1. Open the Apple  menu.
  2. Click Language & Region, then check the desired region.

Unable to add Apple Cash on Mac.

After completing these steps, open the Wallet app and look for a button. If it is still missing, contact Apple Support.
