Tired of dvuhsimnikov? Yes, there are more and more of them, and they are seriously breaking into the smartphone market. Most often, such devices are not very expensive, and with a total of 350, you can get a device of quite good quality. And if you throw another 100 on top, then he will definitely be cool. But what about those who want a flagship, but don’t want to carry a second device? It is clear that, having bought a top-end smartphone, carrying a dialer with you for 40 will be completely ridiculous. Yes, and use a frankly cheap phone (sorry for this word) is not so nice when in the other hand. the flagship.
It is for this case that HTC has a solution. Today’s flagship, HTC One, everyone recognized, if not the best, then one of the best Android smartphones of our time. Unique design, one-piece housing, awesome sound and beautiful picture, interesting camera technology and latest software versions. All this is a decent size and only pleases users around the world. But he has a two-symbol variation, which in some places circumvented the flagship. And today we will discuss these places. Sit back and meet. HTC One Dual Sim.
If you’ve previously held HTC One at least once, you’ll recognize the two-SIM version by the jumper on the left sidewall instead of the sim-holder’s. What kind of thing is we will discuss later, and this is probably the only thing that will help distinguish these two devices. Otherwise, it’s the same HTC One. Visual and tactile sensations have not changed. Unfortunately, there was little fear that the device would slip out of my hand, and I would write it off by weight. But this does not mean that the device is heavy, no, just with its solid dimensions in the middle hand, it can “sit” not very stable.
As expected, the first inclusion runs smoothly. The smartphone periodically prompts the main points of navigation and control of the system, which will be useful not for advanced users. The only problem I encountered was a quick battery drain in the first three days of use. The smartphone warmed up a bit when it just lay idle, and landed the battery. This did not happen all the time, but periodically. After a couple of days of this incomprehensibility, everything returned to normal, there was no more such behavior, and I was able to fully appreciate the device.
Design, buttons, display.
I won’t repeat much about the design, I’ll just remind you of the main points and talk about the differences between the one-and two-sim versions of HTC One. Let’s start with the main difference between the case. the back cover. If it is not removable on HTC One, then the dual sim version is collapsible. the cover for accessing SIM cards and a memory card is removed. Yes, you read it right, you can insert a memory card into the dual SIM card and get 64 GB. But back to the case. The removable panel on the assembly is not much affected. Details are perfectly adjusted, do not create extraneous sounds and do not move. By the way, the battery is not removable and hidden. And I know, many can say that now the case is not monolithic and “everything is perishable,” but believe me, this is quite good. In case of damage and scuffs. And the repair can play a positive moment, because now the disassembly process will be much easier.
The dimensions of the second sim-card is not much affected. If the dimensions of HTC One are 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 and the weight is 143 g, then the Dual Sim has 137.8 x 69.3 x 10.4 and the weight is 13 g more. 156. Note these changes are difficult, in practice it did not affect the use of the device. In addition to minor changes in size and a removable back cover, there are no changes. Behind. a round camera window, flash, microphone, HTC and BeatsAudio logos. On the sides there are polished bevels on metal covers, they look very beautiful. On the left on the case is a jumper to open the back cover, on the right is a corrugated rocker for volume control. Below is Micro USB and a microphone, and above is a headset jack and a power button, which in combination is an infrared port for controlling the TV. The location of the power button, as for me, is inconvenient. you need to reach for it. And this is the only thing that is really bad in the ergonomics of the device.
There are no changes in front either, but we will discuss it anyway. Above the display on the aluminum panel are sensors, a webcam and a long speaker grille. Under the display is the HTC logo, the Home and Back buttons, they are covered by glass. And under the glass is another aluminum panel with another speaker grill. It turns out that there are two speakers on the face that bring a whole new experience of using a smartphone as a multimedia and gaming device. They produce a very decent sound. When watching videos, listening to music and playing games, you no longer need to cover the speaker with your palm for a better sound, but simply play or watch the video. the sound will be at its best.

Now about the display. 4.7 inches Super LCD 3, covered with Gorilla Glass 2. The sensor understands no more than three fingers (and more is not necessary). The display resolution is 1920 x 1080, which in pixel density is expressed by the value of 468 ppi. The colors are beautiful and the viewing angles are maximum. Working with such a display is more than pleasant. Browsing, viewing photos and videos, games. everything is cool. The size of the display, of course, forces either to intercept the smartphone, or to use it with two hands. I could not fully work with one hand. Although if it comes to answering a call or reading mail, you can deal with one hand. But this is very subjective. Otherwise, the display is beautiful, it is definitely one of the best displays I’ve seen.
HTC got a great design. The smartphone looks quite original, although it is worth admitting that there is a resemblance to the BlackBerry Z10 in front. The device is not small, and not everyone will be comfortable using it with one hand. The weight of the device is solid, although I would not call it heavy. Such a device is perfect for everyone. Personally, I really like the aluminum case. Although, I admit, there are a few hand marks on it. Dropping a smartphone is also not worth it, but the back cover is already calmer than a simple HTC One.
Cameras, photos and videos
You can talk about cameras for a long time. But this has already been done for me in the HTC One review. I will share purely my own impressions. Let’s start with the front. The camera for video communications received 2.1 megapixels. It is quite acceptable for video communications, even in low light. Of course, there will be a lot of noise, but this camera is not for portraits. Although portraits with friends will turn out very good in lighted rooms.
The main camera is 4 megapixel. If you just look at the numbers, then it’s bad, because competitors, if not 13, then 8. I am silent about the fact that there are also 41 megapixels. But these are all numbers. This camera picks up more light than usual, which in low light conditions will give a brighter picture. The flip side of the coin is weaker detail and overexposed objects in the sun. But, in general, the camera is very worthy. She records video in Full HD, with excellent sound quality. Most even demanding users will be satisfied with the results of the images, and it will only disappoint those who are initially skeptical about “not 8-13 megapixels”.
Hardware, software and battery
This item, in comparison with a simple HTC One, in a two-sibling brother is exactly the same. It’s still the same quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 (APQ8064) with a clock frequency of 1.7 GHz, two gigabytes of RAM, Adreno 320 video, 32 gigabytes of storage, a memory card slot (this one comes with a capacity of 4 GB). HTC One comes to our region without a slot for memory expansion, so the presence of such a dual sim model can be credited to the advantages. But everything is known by comparison: in my smartphone 16 GB, in HTC One Dual Sim. 32. I would have had enough with my head, but for some of my colleagues (hi, Sasha!) This might not have been enough. But the performance of the smartphone would probably be enough for everyone. Although the results are not the highest, there are a couple of devices that outperform our hero in some respects, but these are just numbers, in practice, a smartphone behaves perfectly even in demanding games. Do not be surprised if the case heats up decently during games and demanding tasks. But in less demanding situations, he stays cool.
The smartphone is running Android 4.2.2, while updates are not heard. The interface is HTC Sense 5.0, which also has not received any changes since the HTC One review. So we will not spend your time on this today, but right away we will turn to autonomy. The battery, oddly enough, did not grow with the addition of another radio module. These are all the same 2300 mAh. Fortunately, this alignment did not greatly affect autonomy. After the first couple of days I had small problems, the situation settled down and the smartphone withstood an active working day. But you should not count on more, unless you will have a very passive weekend (in terms of using a smartphone, of course).

Two sim cards
The only difference between Dual Sim and the usual HTC One in the interface is the second SIM card. As in many other smartphones with two operators, there is a call with Sim 1 and Sim 2, as well as with messages. In the settings there is a “Network Manager”, where you can configure the operator for the Internet. In the sound settings, you can set your own call for each operator. And, by the way, both Sim cards are active, which will allow you to receive calls from Sim 2, while you are talking with Sim 1. In general, everything, as everywhere else, is simple and intuitive.
Conclusions and personal impressions
While I had HTC One Dual Sim, I seriously fell in love with this device. It has several advantages over the regular HTC One, which subsequently can play key roles in the choice. Honestly, in countries where there is no problem with the mobile Internet (and if the user rarely leaves this country), it probably makes no sense to take a dual-SIM version. But in our conditions, when our most popular operators and Edge do not always have it, sometimes you want to have a second SIM card slot with 3G. It is also convenient for those who often travel abroad and like to stay in touch. At the same time, you have not a weak smartphone, but a real flagship!
You can put up with the fact that such a smartphone is not easy to pave into the hand, and at the same time it will be a little heavy. This is a small minus. And not everyone can pay for this two-flagship flagship. This is the biggest problem of HTC One Dual Sim. Now the average cost of such an instance is 740, and this is almost a hundred more than the “classic” version. This is truly one of the best Android smartphones on the market. Cool design, great display, decent camera, stock performance and the coolest sound. He has everything he might need. Yes, you have to pay for the good. Want to drive a luxury car? Pay! Want to relax in 7 hotels? Pay! Want to have a flagship dual sim card? Pay!
